What KongInsight actually is

KongInsight is a web application. It draws Hong Kong buildings, land lots, zoning and statutory height limits on a map, renders the government's 3D building models, and computes sunlight and shadow for a chosen date and time. Every figure it shows is generated automatically from Hong Kong government open data — Lands Department, CSDI and data.gov.hk.

It is software you operate yourself. We do not act as a property agent, appraiser or adviser, we do not value your property for you, and no human reviews your searches. Nothing in the product is financial, investment or legal advice.

Billing, taxes and currency

  • Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, our merchant of record. Paddle handles the transaction and any sales tax or VAT, and appears as the seller on your card statement and invoice.
  • Customers in Hong Kong are charged in HKD at the price listed above. There is no VAT in Hong Kong, so the amount charged is the amount shown.
  • Customers outside Hong Kong are charged in USD. Where local sales tax or VAT applies, Paddle calculates and adds it at checkout before you pay.
  • The 14-Day Pass is a one-time purchase. It does not renew and stores no standing payment authorisation.
  • Plus renews once a year until cancelled. We email a reminder 3 days before each renewal, and you can cancel at any time — see Terms.
