Privacy Policy

Who is responsible

KongInsight is operated by Nguyen Manh Cuong, a sole trader. For any privacy question or request, email manhcuongincusar@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Usage analytics. Pages viewed, buttons clicked, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, via PostHog. We use this to see which features people actually use.
• Your email address — only if you type it into the waitlist form or buy a plan.
• Purchase details. When you buy, Paddle.com Market Ltd collects your payment details, billing country and any tax identifiers. We never see or store your card number. From Paddle we receive your email address, country, which plan you bought and when it expires.
• Local counters. The free tier counts your daily lookups in your browser's local storage. That counter stays on your device.

We do not ask for your name, phone number, address or any information about the property you are researching, and we do not build a profile of the buildings you look at beyond aggregate usage counts.

Who your data goes to

• Paddle.com Market Ltd — merchant of record. Paddle processes payments as an independent controller of your payment data under its own privacy policy.
• PostHog — product analytics, hosted in the United States.
• The Hong Kong Government. When you search an address, your search text goes directly from your browser to the Address Lookup Service at www.als.gov.hk. When the map loads 3D building models, your browser fetches them directly from download.map.gov.hk. In both cases those government servers see your IP address. We do not proxy or log these requests.
• Amazon Web Services — hosting and content delivery for this website and the application.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to target ads anywhere.

Cookies and similar storage

PostHog sets a cookie and uses local storage to recognise a returning browser for analytics. The application uses local storage for your daily lookup counter and your language and theme choices. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of it.

How long we keep it

• Analytics events: retained by PostHog for up to 12 months.
• Waitlist emails: until you ask us to remove yours, or until we stop running the waitlist.
• Purchase records: kept as long as needed for accounting and tax, which is typically seven years, then deleted. Paddle keeps its own records under its policy.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it — including withdrawing consent for analytics. Email manhcuongincusar@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. These rights apply under the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and, if you are in the EU or UK, under the GDPR. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

KongInsight is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date. Material changes affecting paying customers are announced by email.
