For home buyers
Will this building cost you more after you buy?
In Hong Kong you don't just buy a flat — you buy into a building: its orders, its inspections, the major repair the owners haven't voted on yet. KongInsight puts the government records for any address on one map, so you can read them before the deposit.
What the map checks for you
Buildings Department orders
6,540 bldgs on record
Removal orders for unauthorised works, dangerous-building and drainage orders served on the building.
Show on the mapBuilding age & mandatory inspections
Blocks aged 30 or more can be served a Mandatory Building Inspection notice — where most major-repair bills begin. Age comes from each block's occupation permit.
Show on the mapOwners' corporation & lifts
10,822 OCs · 74,444 lifts
Is there an owners' corporation to organise repairs? How many lifts? A five-storey walk-up is a different life at seventy.

Flooding blackspots and every registered man-made slope — including who is responsible for maintaining the one behind the block.

Planning applications, rezonings and building works already started nearby — the tower that could take your view.

- A mandatory building inspection notice means the owners must appoint a Registered Inspector and carry out the prescribed repairs, paying by share. That is where a major-repair bill comes from.
- On the issued list does not mean still outstanding: the Buildings Department publishes issued and complied-with lists separately. Whether the inspection and repairs are done is a question for the management office or the owners' corporation.

What the map won't tell you — and where to look
Transaction prices
Use Centadata or 28Hse. We don't resell Land Registry transaction data.
Unnatural deaths (凶宅)
There is no official list. Private lists are unverified, so we don't show them.
The deed of mutual covenant and ownership
A Land Registry search (IRIS) costs HK$10–25 per property.
Management fees
Not published anywhere. Ask the management office.
Whether the major repair is done, and its cost
Ask the owners' corporation. The government publishes the notices, not the bills.
